Rest In Peace Jim Clancy

We remember another original Toronto Blue Jay who passed away recently with Jim Clancy, who made 13 starts for the expansion Blue Jays. More than 10 years later, he was still there, the last of the original Jays still in Toronto.
Clancy won 128 games for some really bad Blue Jays' teams which by itself is impressive. He would spend a couple forgotten seasons in Houston near the end and the farewell tour would take place in Atlanta, for 24 games out of the Braves' bullpen in 1991. He would pitch in three games of the World Series for the "last to first" Braves team and win a World Series game!
I remember Jim Clancy very well. Although I was not a Blue Jays' fan, I was very excited there were expansion teams in 1977 when I was eight years old and I paid a lot of attention to them when I could. I remember all the names from the original Blue Jays team ranging from Bob Bailor to Otto Velez to Bill Singer.
Clancy was a solid major league starter who will be missed. Rest in Peace Jim Clancy. Your time as an original Toronto Blue Jay earns you status as a Sportscard Memory!
