Rest In Peace Pete Rose

There is way to much to cover with the passing of Pete Rose and I have to keep this short. So here goes nothing!
Rose was one of the most amazing baseball players of all time due to his lack of outstanding skills. He became great because he wanted to be great & he worked to be the greatest every day of his baseball career.
He was the reason the Phillies won the 1980 World Series. Not the lone reason, but he was the piece that had been missing when they kept losing the playoffs year after year before his arrival.
HIs hustle was something we had never seen before and will likely never see again. The nickname, Charlie Hustle, was originally a dig at him. Yet he turned it into one of the greatest nicknames of all time.
Despite all of his success on the field, he had way too many flaws to mention them all. Between the gambling, betting on baseball, the carousing, and the his alleged time with underage girls, it's hard to look up to the man.
We met him at the Mandalay Bay casino in the 2010s. He was signing autographs (for a fee of course) and chatting with his customers. We talked for a minute or two. We agreed Curt Schilling is not a HOFer and that Craig Biggio is because of 3000 hits. I will treasure that moment.
It is a no brainer that he should be a Hall of Famer. With gambling taking such a hold of the game now, it's time for them to move on. At the end of the day, he was a baseball player and a damn good one. Without a doubt, a Baseball Card Memory we will never forget. Rest in Peace, Pete.
