Rest In Peace Randy Moffitt

We continue to honor former major leaguers who passed in 2025 with the brother of Tennis star Billie Jean King, former San Francisco Giants reliever Randy Moffitt. Moffitt was solid but unspectacular for 10 years in San Francisco before quick stops in Houston and Toronto. He would team up with Gary Lavelle & Greg "Moon Man" Minton to form a solid bullpen for the Giants in the late 70s.

I remember him mainly as the brother of Billie Jean King. She was a huge deal in sports in the 70s and they often mentioned that her brother played major league baseball. A former 1st round pick, Moffitt had a dominant 1973 campaign, but never matched it again.

After a miserable 1981 season, he would play for the Astros in 1982 then the Blue Jays in 1983 before hanging it up for good. Rest In Peace, Randy Moffitt, you will always be a Baseball Card Memory to me!
