R ecently we lost another player from my childhood, former San Diego Padres ace Randy Jones. Jones had a very short peak but what a peak it was! Coming off a 22 loss season in 1974, Jones won 20 games and led the league with a 2.24 ERA. What a crazy season out of nowhere for the 25 year old southpaw.
